Setting Task Reminders

Setting Task Reminders

Overview

Task reminders help you stay on top of your work by notifying you before a task is due. Reminders are configured based on the Due Date and Time of the task. You can set reminders for yourself or the task owners.

When to Use Task Reminders

Use reminders to:

  • Get notified on the due date of important tasks

  • Receive daily nudges until the task is completed

  • Alert owners ahead of time for reviews or follow-ups

Reminder Options

When setting up a reminder, you can choose from the following options:

1. Reminder Frequency

  • On Due Date – Notifies you at the exact due date and time.

  • Before Due Date – Choose to be reminded hours or days in advance.

  • Daily Until Due Date – Sends daily reminders starting from the time it’s set until the due date.

2. Recipient

  • Remind Me – Only you receive the reminder.

  • Remind Owners – All task owners are notified.

3. Custom Reminder

  • Set a specific custom reminder time (e.g., May 30, 3:00 PM), as long as it is before the due date and time.

How to Set a Reminder

1. Open a task with a valid Due Date and Time

2. Click on the Reminder icon on the top.

3. Choose the reminder frequency: Daily, On Due Date, or Before Due Date.

4. Select the recipient: yourself or task owners.

5. (Optional) Set a custom date and time.

6. Save the reminder.

Important Notes

  • Reminders can only be set if the task has a Due Date and Time.

  • You cannot set reminders for tasks with overdue due dates.

  • Multiple reminders per task are not supported; only one active reminder can be configured at a time.

  • Reminders are sent as in-app notifications and/or email alerts, based on your notification settings.

Example Use Cases

  • Remind all owners one day before the deadline to review a deliverable.

  • Set a daily reminder for yourself to update a task until it’s marked as complete.

  • Use a custom reminder for a specific hour on the due date to initiate a meeting prep task.
