Managing Task Statuses at the Project Level in Astravue

In Astravue, task statuses help you visualize and track the progress of tasks within a project. You can manage statuses using both Board View and List View. Here’s how you can do it:

What is a Status?

A status represents the current stage of a task (e.g., TO-DO, IN REVIEW, TESTING, BLOCKED). Statuses are fully customizable per project to match your workflow.

 Accessing Status Management

You can manage statuses from:

1. Board View (Kanban Style)

  • Navigate to your project and open the Tasks module.

  • Use the Group: Status filter to view tasks by their current status.

  • Each column represents a status (e.g., TO-DO, TESTING, BLOCKED).

  • Click on + ADD STATUS on the far right to create a new status.

  • Name your status (e.g., "In QA").

  • Click Save – it will appear as a new column.

2. List View

  • Use the view switcher on the top-right to change to the list layout.

  • Locate the Status column.

  • Click the three-dot menu in the column header.

  • Select Edit Status to add, rename, delete, or reorder statuses.

Editing or Reordering Statuses

  • In Board View, drag-and-drop status columns to reorder.

  • In List View, click Edit Status from the Status column’s menu to:

    • Rename existing statuses

    • Reorder statuses using drag handles

    • Delete unwanted statuses

✅ Best Practices

  • Keep statuses clear and action-oriented (e.g., "In Review" instead of "Waiting").

  • Assign default statuses like "TO-DO" to new tasks for consistency.
