How to Track Time and Update Timesheets in Astravue

Accurate time tracking is essential for effective project management, proper billing, and understanding true work effort. Yet most teams struggle with it, timesheets are often forgotten, filled at the end of the week, and prone to errors. Astravue eliminates this pain by offering a simple, smart, and automated time tracking system. With quick timers, auto-stop controls, and reminders, Astravue ensures your project timesheets stay accurate without interrupting your workflow.


How to Start a Quick Timer in Astravue


1. Open the Timer Panel

  • Click the Clock icon on the top-right corner of the workspace.


2. Add a New Timer
  • Click Add New Timer.

  • Browse your Spaces to select the right Project.

  • Choose the Task assigned to you.

  • Click Start.

Your active timer will now appear at the top as Running, ensuring your time is captured instantly.



Managing Your Running Timers


Pause a Timer

  • Click the Clock icon again.

  • Select the running timer and click Pause.

This helps when you shift between task


Resume a Timer
  • From the same panel, click Resume to continue working on the task.


Stop a Timer
  • Click Stop when you finish.

  • Choose:

    • Billable

    • Non-billable

  • Add Notes if needed for clarity.

The recorded time is automatically added to your task-level and project-level timesheet.




What Happens If You Forget to Stop Your Timer?

Astravue prevents inaccurate time logs with smart automation.


1. Smart Stop (Auto-Stop Timer)


Users can define a daily auto-stop time—typically the end of working hours.


To configure:
  • Click Profile Icon

  • Go to Settings

  • Open Preferences → Timer

  • Set your preferred auto-stop time

This ensures your timer never runs overnight or inflates your project timesheet.



2. Smart Timer Reminders


If your timer runs unusually long, Astravue sends a reminder so you can:
  • Confirm activity

  • Stop the timer

  • Avoid incorrect time entries

This helps maintain clean, reliable project timesheets.
