Currency Settings in Astravue

Currency


Astravue uses USD as the default currency. You can switch the default to another currency at any time, and every field involving cost across your workspace updates to match it. Astravue supports one active currency at a time, not different currencies per project.

Why this setting matters

Cost only means something if the number and the currency agree. A budget of 5,000 means something very different in dollars than it does in rupees or euros. Getting this right once, at the workspace level, means every cost field your team sees afterward is already speaking the same language, with no one having to guess or convert in their head.



How to change the default currency

  1. Go to Admin Console -> Settings Instance Configuration and open Currency.

  2. Click Add New if the currency you want isn't already in your list. 


  1. Select the currency you want to use from the list of supported currencies. 

  1. Set it as default.

  2. Confirm the change. Every field involving cost across your workspace, budgets, task costs, and any other cost-related fields, updates to the new currency immediately. 



Important: one currency at a time

Astravue supports a single active currency across your entire workspace. It does not support different currencies for different projects.

This means if you set Indian Rupee as your default, every project updates to Rupee, including ones that were previously in USD. There is no way to keep one project in USD, another in Euro, and a third in Rupee at the same time. Changing the default currency changes it everywhere.

If your team works across multiple currencies today, plan the switch carefully. Choosing a new default is a workspace-wide decision, not a per-project one.
